01/05/09New York RangersColton OrrPittsburgh PenguinsEric GodardOrr exits the box after an elbowing penalty and him and Godard have a qucik square-off. Orr fires off about 10-15 unanswered rights but not many connecting. Godard really never got set and threw some of hiw own but threw about 1 for every of Orr's 5.

01/04/09Chicago BlackhawksColin FraserCalgary FlamesMark GiordanoWasn't much of a scrap, I'd probably call it a draw. Mostly wrestling with punches thrown in tight. They both got loose and threw a couple at the end, but didn't look like anything connected.

01/04/09Chicago BlackhawksBen EagerCalgary FlamesRobyn RegehrEager and Curtis Glencross bump as they chase the puck into the corner. Regehr comes in and lays a hard shoulder check into Eager. Eager doesn't like the hit and gets his stick into Regehr asking him to go. They drop the gloves with Eager grazing with an overhand right and follows it up with a right uppercut that just misses. They tie up a bit. With Regehr hunched over Eager tries to switch to the left and Regehr takes advantage and throws three quick rights to the side of the head before powering Eager down to the ice. Both guys throw a shot at one another as the linesmen are breaking them up. Lots of yapping from the penalty box between the two. Draw, possible Edge Regehr.

01/04/09Chicago BlackhawksMatt WalkerCalgary FlamesAndre RoyOn the ensuing faceoff Roy makes a beeline for Walker. Walker dumps the puck into the corner as they shed the mitts. Walker gets off two quick rights, might have connected with one. Roy comes back and throws 4-5 rights, maybe one or two grazing. Unfortunately, the Hawks feed froze up at that point. Audio was still going and sounded like mostly wrestling with a couple of attempted punches. Hopefully Mags has a better feed. From what I saw/heard

01/04/09New Jersey DevilsDavid ClarksonOttawa SenatorsChris NeilNeil comes flying at Andy Greene with an elbow and misses him and hits his own teammate. Clarkson doesn't like the intent and skates over and issues the challenge. Neil accepts and these two start throwing right away, both landing, with Clarkson landing a bit better. They come in tight as both are tired and throw an extra one before the zebras come in. Neil with some blood trickling from his mouth.

01/03/09St. Louis BluesDavid BackesColumbus Blue JacketsFedor TyutinEarlier in the shift Backes and Jackman combine to lay a big hit on Rick Nash. Play moves up ice, at the blueline Kristian Huselius moves into Backes who catches him with a cross-check right on the chin. Huselius goes down in a heap and Tyutin immediately goes after Backes. Tyutin is kind of hunched over and looked like Backes connected with a nice right uppercut. Tyutin grabs Backes around the knees and is just holding on. Backes throws a couple of more rights as they go down, nothing connecting.

01/03/09Edmonton OilersJason StrudwickDallas StarsKrys BarchThe start to this one was funny, and both Struds and Stortini were there asking for BArch to go, with Barch dangling, just waiting for one of them to drop first. Barch was happy to fight either, but not both! I give a slight edge to Struds in this one for the strong start. Struds wanted to go toe2toe, and they did for a few seconds. Hard to call what landed and what didn't, but Struds looked to land better, and throw a bit more. Edge Strudwick.

01/03/09Edmonton OilersZach StortiniDallas StarsKrys BarchThey go off the draw in a decent fight. Stortini doesn't move in for the hug and they both trade some rights. Looked like Barch landed a good one here. They continue to spin and trade blows, with Barch throwing more. Stortini wants it to end and the linesmen are trying to break it up. Barch pulls Stortini away from the refs and they each throw a few more.
