Colton Orr vs. Patrick Bordeleau

They line up together after Lake Erie goes up 1-0 and 7-1 on the shot clock. They don't go off the draw, but come together a few seconds later when Orr lines up Bordeleau for a hit. Orr drops the gloves right away trying to get the jump on Bordeleau.

They both grab on and start to trade BIG rights, both guys throwing from the hip. Bordeleau looks to land better and cleaner throughout the fight and gets the win, IMO, but both guys landed punches. They eventually tumble to the ice and Bordeleau is not happy with Orr for trying to get the quick start. Bordeleau went to the room after the fight, no idea why?

Anyway, even though Orr lost the fight, it turned the tide of the game. Toronto scored a few minutes later to tie the game, and went on to win by 3. Good to see Colt fighting again, but he needs to square up and lose the lid.

Both were chucking some serious bombs, wow!

Count on Colton Orr to get shit done. Always on the hunt as he goes right after Bordeleau!

I saw a solid draw in this one POB.

Good tilt there as these two heavyweights slug it out toe to toe in a short but explosive fight. Orr went right after him and they did it with the helmets on but it made for a couple of good helmet flying haymakers as Bordeleau nailed Orr with a Beaut that sent his bucket flying and Orr countered with one that sent Bordeleau's lid flying as well. They each landed three or four quality shots a piece. Bordeleau didn't seem to interested in continuing the wide open exchange once he lost the visor as he pulled the chute and went for the takedown but Big props to him for stepping up and taking on Orr. The knock on Bordeleau has been his fight card to date. When he has gone, he's got a phenominal winning percentage and he's shown himself to be an excellent fighter but much the same way as the knock on John Scott was that he isn't very proactive and doesn't usually go out of his way to fight the toughest guys in the league. He just kept on beating nearly everyone he did fight for years though and Orr didn't give him any choice in the matter here but Bordeleau was ready for him and gave him all he could handle in a good heavyweight tilt. Great to see Orr trading the bombs again. That was a fun tilt with a fair bit of violence packed into 20 seconds of action. Gotta call it a draw.

It'll be interesting with the stupid visor rule in the AHL to see how Orr handles it because he's normally very proactive in starting/forcing guys to fight which is great but if a guy is hesitant to go and you're trying to force the issue, that stupid visor presents a problem. If you toss it and force the fight on the guy with his still on you put yourself at a severe disadvantage but at the same time it's cheap to be starting fights with the shield on. I don't think you can really fault Orr here, he was looking for a fight and went after it. I dunno that Bordeleau would have agreed to just drop em and square up Buckets off, his card doesn't indicate that he'd really be too excited about that matchup but his ability once again shows that he's totally capable of handling it. Good Scrap. Props to both combatants. Straight up Draw.

Time to finally tune into these Marlies that have been killing, especially with Orr back.

Colt has some nice matchups the rest of the way, hopefully he gets into 2-4 more before the season is over.

Good to see Orr back in action. Although he still fought wide open, which is great for us but bad news for him. Looked like a solid draw.
