My Friend James was murdered last night. He was 28. James and I met last August when we both started law school. We were fast friends and became great study partners and drinking buddies. We made a lot of great memories in the year we knew each other. James moved back home to York for the summer to work for a firm close to home. He was outside of a bar last night around 11 pm talking to his girlfriend on the phone. A man walked up to him and asked him for money. James refused. There was a fight and James was shot once in the back. No arrests have been made. I have never lost a friend before and never expected it to be under these circumstances. I can't believe this happened and am pretty broken up. I really want to see some justice, but mostly I just miss my friend.

After reading the article, let me guess, the suspects are 3 black males, because it wasn't mentioned. If they were white it would have said 3 white males. In my hometown newspaper this is what happens. I don't know if descriptions of suspects ever help any investigation, and it has to go way beyond skin color obviously, but you get no description whatsoever when the suspects are black. I am treading in ugly water right now, but this is reminiscent of my home town paper articles.
And I don't give a shit one way or another who or what they are as long as they're given the fucking death penalty. Disgusting.

I'm very sorry 187. Like YC, I lost one of my best friends in this world to heroin nearly 3 years ago. When somebody this young dies, there is really no making any sense of it. There is no rhyme or reason, and nothing that really makes you feel any better, aside from time. It just sucks. My thoughts are with you, bro.

People that are against the death penalty really amaze me. If a guy killed one of their family members or a close friend, they'd probably be singing a different tune.
I hope they find these guys and execute them. Quick.

Thanks for the support guys.
I do think this could be a death penalty case. In my eyes, it qualifies as felony murder because it occurred during an armed robbery. This would mitigate it up to 1st degree. I haven't really checked though, could be wrong.

Terrible news, 187. I've lost some close friends, and it is no fun.
The amount of senseless violence in this world is astonishing.
I'm going to make some assumptions here, but I bet they will be proven to be true.
Once again, a person that has never done anything positive for society, slaughters an innocent person that is trying to better society. All because he wasn't willing to give free money to a stranger that feels he is entitled to it.
F'ing shameful.

Sorry to hear this 187. I lost a close friend from high school many years ago when a guy robbed the store she was working at to get money for crack. I just can't understand why people do some of the things they do. I hope the family of the young man killed can move on with their lives after such a senseless tragedy
