She should switch to decaf.

A TSA screener was arrested at JFK Airport for hurling a cup of hot coffee at an American Airlines pilot who told her and some colleagues to tone down a profanity- laced conversation in a terminal, sources said yesterday.

The dust-up occurred at about 5 a.m. on March 28, when airman Steven Trivett, 54, who was off-duty, was exiting Terminal 8 and overheard the banter, according to Port Authority police sources.
Trivett, of Butler, Tenn., told them they should “conduct themselves more professionally in uniform and not use profanity or the n-word,” a source explained.

One screener told him to “mind his own business” and cursed him out.

Trivett then identified himself as a “TSA officer” who is an armed pilot.

When he tried to grab at the ID tags of screener Lateisha El, 30, she pushed him and tossed a “full cup” of hot coffee on him, police say.

Trivett was not seriously injured. El, of Brooklyn’s East New York, was given a desk-appearance ticket on harassment and misdemeanor-assault charges.

They sure do hire a lot of bad employees. Not everyone is going to have a problem, but they hire seriously underqualified people all the time. It's not small potatoes when we trade our freedoms to be groped by unprofessional morons IMO.

I hear this all the time, but I made that kind of money at one time, and I always did my best and tried to be professional no matter how menial the task was. I thank my father and mother for that. Then again I never thought anybody owed me anything so...

I know kids at fast food restaurants that have better work ethic and professionalism than that. I guarantee the supervisor of those TSA agents has set the bar so low on what is acceptable behavior. Your minimum expectation is the most you will get out of workers. The higher your minimum expectation, the more you will get out of people. I don't think people go to work every day with the idea to see how poorly they can perform. Of course, there is always the exception, but go to a Chick-fil-a, then go to a McDonalds. Those people are paid basically the same wage, but there is a vastly different experience. The training, policies, and leadership are the difference, not the people.
You can easily judge the character of a man by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.

TSA has 65,000 employees. Shit's gonna happen no matter how sound your hiring process is.

Even if they all made $100K/yr, you'd have some jackoffs in a 65,000 person pool.

At what amounts to a third of that? Ooofta!

How does a resume with the name Lateisha on it not go right into the "Throw away in 90 days or however long the government requires me to keep it on hand" file?

In this instance it was a castoff from the DMV.
