Jay Rosehill / Brayden McNabb
McNabb smokes Lombardi with a big hit along the boards and Rosehill cruises in. They go right away and McNabb is flailing away all offbalanced. Rosehill scores a couple shots before McNabb goes awkwardly to the ice. Win Rosehill.
Frattin / Marcus Foligno
Foligno hammers a Leaf and Frattin comes in. All Foligno as he ragdolls Frattin and lands a couple uppercuts.

I love that Buffalo is giving these scrappy young guys a chance. Finley up?

No Finley. Sabres still have delusions that they'll make and make noise in the playoffs. Meanwhile if they miss the playoffs, it will be 7 of 14 seasons that Ruff has missed the playoffs. That deserves another extension.

You can't lose two games in a row to Toronto when you're desperately fighting for that last playoff spot.

Two nice hits to start both fights. Rosehill ragdolled McNabb, might have clipped him with a couple on route to an easy victory while Frattan steps up to take on Foligno and earns an E for effort but takes a bit of a beating as Foligno easily works him over for the easy win.

The Leafs really suck. However I cant see how the refs didnt blow the whistle on that last goalmouth scrum. It lasted about 15 seconds with the puck under about 6 players.

I was at the game tonight. Did the refs want the Sabres to win tonight? Wow, crazy game!!! It had everything, and the Sabres just keep going and keep staying alive.
First NHL fights for Brayden McNabb and Marcus Foligno. Nice to see! Both spirited goes. Also 1st NHL fight for Frattin.
McNabb didn't pick his spot that's for sure taking on the Leafs heavyweight and a good fighter. McNabb dropped his gloves first after laying that thunderous hit. Seeing it live it appeared Rosehill landed more, but when they showed the replay he missed with his last couple punches and it was McNabb going off balance basically. McNabb landed a right as soon as they came together, but that's all he did. Rosehill had his way, but no damage, but still the easy win.
Foligno worked over Frattin and beat him pretty good. Hopefully he fights enough next season. Maybe 5 to 7 fights anyway.
First shift of game Foligno smoked Gunnarsson behind the Leafs net with a monster hit as well. No rough stuff though.
Was hoping McCormick and Brown would fight, but nope. Phaneuf really didn't want to get rough with anyone tonight. Komisarek was getting physical and dirty, but nothing came of it. Lucic wasn't around .

McNabb got worked well by Rosehill, not sure is McNabb even a fighter but he took a heavy beating IMO after getting nailed 5-6x and got pounded to the ice but no knockdown.
Emotional scrap, it was Rosehill who punched here only and McNabb just take shots.
CLEAR WIN Foligno in a bout where he had a better control and threw pretty much the only punches, one good reply-shot by Frattin but thats it, he took a punishment, take a shots himself about 6-8 pieces.
Foligno was a boss here, it looks well here.

Nice to see Rosehill get into one last fight this season, I fully expected him to be done for the season given the weak schedule to end the year, Buffalo twice, Tampa and Montreal. See you next year Rosie! Randy will surely use you in a few more game than Wilson did this year!

Rosehill looks pretty good out there compared to other heavies, skills wise. And fighting wise, he had a pretty good year and matched up well vs other heavies. He is a much better option then Orr, who really had little talent and a waste of a million dollars a season. Rosehill will sign for league min or just over that, so he is a good cheap option that won't hurt you to serve as a 13th forward.

You have been saying he is done for last 3 weeks. He will fight Staubitz.
