I always liked Peplinski, but got to go with Fraser here.
I will say Fraser 5-2-3

This is a close match up. Fraser has the bigger rep and the hard punch. Pepper was the ultimate team guy.
They actually fought a few times. The 87 fight was a close in draw, both men getting towards careers end. I'm going with a 3-3-4 split and moving Fraser along. This is based on his overall rep.
The Peplinski/Hunter tag team is one of my all time favorites and Pepper has a ton of gutsy showing and nice wins. I think he matches up with Fraser fine. But I think Curt would do better against some of the guys Pep took losses to and was just a better overall fighter.
As a side note the Peplinski glove/stick smash to Cement Heads face after his cheap shot to Hunter was one of the best support a team mate moves I have ever seen. Just great!

Peplinski was always willing and a great playoff teammate ala vs Oilers. But Fraser IMO is very underrated. I am going with Fraser.

Fraser - and I wish these threads had the link to the main brackets so I don't have to go back.

Fraser vs Peplinski
Not disagreeing with Fraser moving on in the tourney, but I can see a 10 fight series looking just like this fight, x10. Peplinski's size keeps him right in it, even if Curt is a better fighter. Sometimes its just about match ups.

That was basically a shit fight draw. If I had to choose a winner there I'd give it to Fraser who landed one or two good shots at the beginning and then Pepper did a good job putting the hug on him and preventing the fight from really going any further. He threw a couple of noogies to the back of the head but they were nothing punches. The Yellow site gives it to Pepelinski but there's no way he won that fight. Shit fight draw and if anything the decision is Fraser's. Peplinski would probably be able to wrestle his way to a few of these shit fight draws but I don't think he'd be beating Fraser too often, if at all in a best of 10 and over 10 fights at some point Fraser would get loose and put a hurting on him for a dominant and decisive beatdown if not TKO. Peplinski was a gamer, nothing more. Fraser was a pretty good fighter. 6-0-4 Fraser. One fight showdown I'm going with Frazer by beatdown. Win Fraser.

True Drunk, in close draw.
But Fraser seemed to have a lot of these in close type fights in his career. Most of his many fights with Plett went that way. I think your selling Peplinski a bit short, he can do well in these sorts of fights. Again I'm not taking anything away from Fraser, he was a strong fighter and I voted for him. But its fun to give some thought to these match ups we don't see everyday.

Your right. It's not like Fraser could just beat him down at will but I don't think he'd be ever likely to win in this match up. Over 10 fights he'd probably get lit up once or twice and get slight decision losses or draws the rest of the way. Fraser could hit hard and fight better to win an open fight and he was just as strong as Peplinski and likely to be the more active and accurate puncher in the wrestling matches where there's enough to go on to hand out a decison. Peplinski was a gamer but I can't see him beating Curt Fraser too often, if at all in a series.
