Butcher, Boulton, Peacemaker and Johnz -

You should all be ashamed of yourselves for ruining a great, informative thread like this with your juvenile bullshit.

If one of the "Old School" mods deletes their crap, please delete this post, too.

Thanks!

With all due respect I think Peacemaker did an EXCELLENT job avoiding getting into more junk in this thread.. I admire that a lot, good job.

Back to Gassoff.. Nicky, did you ever talk to your source again about Gasser getting bloodied in St. Louis?

re: posts by peacemaker, butcher, boulton and johnz.

i'm late getting in here but everybody knows the deal. i'm not one to pull posts or lock down threads unnecessarily - i try to let things get worked out on there own. they usually do and it appears that the "off-topic bullshit" that worked it's way into this thread has found it's way out fairly quickly. that's a good thing and i expect it to stay that way. no more needs to be said at this time.

i agree that this is a very good thread and has some great new info for all patrons of the Old School Forum.

carry on and let's keep the peace boys ....

Hey my apologies...
But returning to the thread...While I really appreciate what he accomplished, isn't it difficult to put give him 'all-time' status simply b/c his career was so short?
Pretty much every tough guy goes through a period where they have guys kind of sneak out wins against them as their career progresses. Those are the type of fights that are talked about on these forums and leads to debate as to the worthiness of a guy as a top3, top 10 etc...Not only did Bob not go through this (with a couple of exceptions already mentioned) where he lost to some young nad really hungry rookie trying to establish himself, but he also avoided the end of the career embarassments that we all try and ignore (but they unfortunately still leave an impression in many cases).

PM - Most everyone here tends to refrain from having Gasser on their "all-time lists" simply because of the fact that his career was so short and because there really isn't enough info/tape on him.

I've always read it was a severed leg. We have quite a few good threads on Bob Gassoff and an interview with Brad Gassoff as well. I do a lot of newspaper research on these two. If you have anything to share I'd love to hear it. Welcome aboard!

Wow, some great stories in this old thread. Bob Gassoff would have turned 64 today.

Was one of the best his era.

Dont know half of his fight.
