What's on the Minor Threat DVD? I have two shows on VHS. A set at 9:30 and another place that slips my mind at the moment.
There is no racial bigotry here! I do not look down on niggers, kikes, whops or greasers! Here you are ALL equally worthless! |

Mags - I'm not sure what's on the new DVD. Do you have The Best of Flipside #2 with Minor Threat and the Minutemen? I got that one...it's really good. The Minor Threat set is sick with kids all over the place. Kids doing full flips landing square on their back on stage and shit...and that kid with the red pants & suspenders is all over the stage diving. Good tape.

Had a very good trip to the record store.I havent had this much success in awhile.3 cd's bought, all are great.
The Nerve Agents - "Days of the White Owl" - This is about 3 years old.The band broke up over a year ago.Leave it to me to finally start digging on the band.Featured the former front man for Unit Pride.Just straight forward, hard rockin' hardcore punk.Excellent musicianship.I heard "Fall Of The All-American" before I bought this cd.I still think it's the best tune on the disc.
Black Widows - "Black Widows Stop A Beating Heart" -This band was actually called Black Widows and changed their name to Black Cross.Good thing, stupid name.It comes from Initial Records featuring members of Endpoint,By The Grace Of God,Automatic, and others. In a record preview from the label they say it sounds like a cross between Swiz and Drive Like Jehu.I say thats as God damn close as it comes.More towards Swiz though.Quick paced,a little bit of feed back, and a bass guitar using a distortion pedal. Not too heavy on the distortion though.Rob from Endpoint howls out the vocals,he has a cool, unique voice.Great cd."11.59 Answering The Call" is my favorite track.Looking forward to grabbing the new Black Cross release.

I've seen the band name "Spart" for years now on bills and lineups, but I've not heard one note of their music. They are one of those bands that kind of entice you but you never pick anything of theirs up...glad to hear they are good, I might have to give them a listen eventually.
Waiting for the new Good Riddance in the mail currently...

lol...just in the mood for some melodic core/metalcore...some good stuff, some not so good. Most of these guys this was my first time hearing them.
A Static Lullaby - Has anyone heard this yet? Amazing stuff, I really liked them. On Ferret Records, this band fuckin rocks. If you like the stuff This Day Forward does then you'll dig this.
A New Hope - How can I have not heard this amazing band before?!? No idea what label they are on, but this is some seriously amazing melodic oldschool hardcore. Tough yet sincere...just great stuff, I like them.
Alixisonfire - So-so...Thursday type stuff, screams with singing...lot like Recover, et al.
Glassjaw - Too poppy for me to deal with...I can see why thet are popular these days.
Garrison - Liked them!
Coheed and Cambria - That's some weird fucked up metalcore (I guess?)...I don't know if I like this, need another listen.
Daylight - This band should get big. Great soaring songs of screaming/singing. Good stuff!
End This Day - Holy shit...crunch fest...awesome metalcore. Remembering Never, Skycamefalling come to mind. They recently broke up...too bad. Powerful, hard breakdown mosh.
Red Before Dawn - Could be good, need more listens.
Beloved - Not for me. That's my nice way of saying this is pure crap and will never see me press play again. Put it this way...I felt like putting on black leather chaps and grabbing the nearest Serge I could find.

The Stryder is pop crap, sounds like the opening song for a teen sitcom on FOX.
Sparta on the other hand...whoa! Amazing...
