Ironically, Hackett usually ends with Watcher Of The Skies. They opened with Dance On A Volcano....

So far I've got 3 concerts lined up. I know there's a lot of metal heads here, but I'm a country boy.

Chris Stapleton in August
Zac Brown in September

I tried for Metallica, but I'm not paying $200 per ticket to see them for a 5th time.

My sister got our family Bon Jovi tickets for Christmas as a family out on the town type of thing, for April.

Not too sure how I feel about that. Don't really consider myself a Bon Jovi fan. I picture 40-50 year old women screaming the whole time, pissing me off. Maybe I'll just get shittered and let loose.

Went to the Experience Hendrix show last night in Denver. A bunch of kick ass guitarists playing Hendrix songs. Was disappointed Buddy Guy only sang one song and it wasn't Red House. 80 years old and he can still bring it. Great show! Different stops had a few different guitarists. This was the line up for last night.

From the Hendrix website

Featuring Billy Cox (from Jimi Hendrix Experience / Band Of Gypsys), Buddy Guy, Zakk Wylde (from Black Label Society / Ozzy Osbourne), Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Jonny Lang, Dweezil Zappa, Chris Layton (from Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble), Mato Nanji (from Indigenous), Noah Hunt (from Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band), Ana Popovic, Henri Brown, The Slide Brothers, Scott Nelson (from Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band), and Tim Austin (from Buddy Guy's Damn Right I've Got The Blues Band)

Steel panther last night in NJ.

This is my first time seeing them, so i was pysched. It was a good show, lots of fun. My only complaint was that some of the comedy bits were suppose to be unplanned, but you can tell they're are scripted. Lots of talking between songs. I would have liked less talking and adding two or three songs.

This didn't matter to me, but it seemed the sound tech guys were helping the lead singer hold out with his vocals.

Slayer at the MSG Theater last night.

They played with Lamb of God, who sounded good musically but i didn't like the singer. Too much on the screaming side for me. Crowd was really into them.

My first time seeing Slayer, which is weird since i've been listening to them for 28 years. Awesome show. When i saw the set list, it was a no-brainer. The stage had a huge black curtain with glowing Satanic angels flying around for the first half of the show. The second half had a black backdrop with a huge slayer symbol and huge upside down crosses on the sides. Sick. I was a little surprised they played so many songs from the Abyss album. They sounded great, and Araya looks like he's 70 years old.

1. Repentless
2. The Antichrist
3. Disciple
4. Postmordem
5. Hate Worldwide
6. War Ensemble
7. When the Stillness Comes
8. You Against You
9. Mandatory Suicide
10. Hallowed Point
11. Dead Skin Mask
12. Born of Fire
13. Bloodline
14. Cast the First Stone
15. Seasons in the Abyss
16. Hell Awaits
17. South of Heaven
18. Rain in Blood
19. Chemical Warfare
20. Angel of Death

I just never could get in to Slayer. Love some of their riffs, but I think it's the vocals that kill it for me.
I've always preferred singers to screamers.

Actually, I didn't get to see them. My friends and i walked into the arena as they were playing. We had a couple beers at the bar while they played. Sorry I can't give you any info.

Going to see my friends in UFO in Baltimore & Philly the end of this month. Opening for them are Saxon and I cannot wait to see these guys for the first time! I can't even believe I've never seen them live in the first place! The are arguably the most underrated band from the NWOBHM era!!!

it's been an 80s LA week for me. i just saw X Sunday and the Blasters on Tuesday.

Both were excellent, but Phil Alvin's recent health issues have taken a toll. His voice is still great however, God bless him.

Love the Blasters! I'm bummed I missed the tour Dave and Phil did together last year. I did see Dave play with Smokey from The Big Lebowski. That was a great show!
