Has it been confirmed that Rampage is the other coach?

Me too, I don't mind seeing Forrest get the title shot at all. But there is one guy here to me that is flying under the radar. Machida I believe is undefeated at 205 in the UFC. I think he had 2 or three fights already, but he is a very good fighter, but UFC rarely makes mention of him.

Reminder. We have the WEC coming up on Wednesday, the 12th. Potential to be a real good card, especially for free TV. Here's the card:

Thanks Vain, forgot about that. Very solid card for the WEC. It's been a pleasant surprise on VS so far.
Looking foward to the Faber fight. And also want to see how Little Evil does after not showing so well in his last two fights. He used to be such an exciting fighter to watch, I hope he makes a bit of a comeback in the WEC.
The Bowles guy looks like Forrest Griffen.

You think Forrest will be fighting Rampage for the title? I do
How on Earth Griffin gets a shot at Rampage for the title is beyond me. Dana has Forrest as the #1 contender?????
First of all, Forrest has lost 2 of his last 5 fights.
Second of all, MMAWeekly.com has Griffin at the #8 spot in the light heavyweight department while MMANews.com has him at #5.
Rashad Evans, 11-0
Michael Bisping, 15-1
Thiago Silva, 12-0
Mauricio Rua, who TKO'd Rampage....
Henderson, Liddell, Silva
Brawls16: I cant believe i`m saying this but I actually have to agree with Dana for once..As crazy as it sounds, I cant think of anyone who actually deserves the title shot at all, so why not the guy who finished the #1 ranked LHW in the world (over Rampage) in Shogun Rua? Bisping and Evans? No Way!! Both 2nd tier fighters who need to fight and beat 1st tier fighters and actually finish them. Thiago Silva needs to beat one top tier fighter before deserving of a shot. Shogun just lost to Forrest. Henderson is moving down to MW to fight Silva for the title on 3/1 in Columbus, OH. Liddell coming off two consecutive losses. Silva coming off a long layoff and loss to Hendo. If he beats Liddell, then I would give him a title shot against Rampage, but Rampage needs to defend his title soon, so Silva could be next in line. Jardine is also an arguable candidate to fight Rampage, but I would give Forrest an edge over him just for beating the #1 ranked LHW in the world. I personally dont think Forrest matches up that well against Rampage and will lose, but hopefully that will set up a future Wanderlai Silva/Rampage title fight. If Silva is back in form, that will be great!!!!
Southpaw,
Where does Lyoto Michida fit into the light-heavyweight picture? He has a clean record @ 10-0
so I would assume that he is somewhat legit. The rap on Lyoto seems to be that he is a somewhat "boring" fighter. I haven't seen enough of him to form an opinion.

Machida is near the top, for sure. He has an 11-0 record, but he hasn't faced the top competition in the UFC thus far. He was actually supposed to face Forrest, but Forrest requested Shogun. The rest is history....
I can see where people view him as boring, but I view him as a cerebral, crisp fighter. Very well rounded and hits harder then most think he does. At this stage, he just doesn't have the name to sell as an opponent to face Rampage, and he really hasn't beet the UFC's best to warrent a title shot. He's booked to face Sokoudjou, which is a VERY intriguing fight. I'm really looking forward to that one.

Machida is probably 3 fights away from a title shot. He definately needs to beat Sokodjuo, and probably do it in pretty convincing fashion. After that, my guess is either T. Silva, Evans or Jardine, winner faces winner of Liddell/Silva. That said, he needs to finish someone. A lackluster UD over Soko will probably just get him a match with Bonnar, or someone in the third tier...maybe a Bisping match at most.

I would agree with that, Mesten. I don't have any problem at all with fighters who come to finish being rewarded. Fighters who lay it on the line. Rampage is an obvious favorite over Forrest, but Forrest should make for an exciting fight and atmousphere.

Even if Forrest isn't a true #1 contender, that should be an awesome fight to watch. You know Forrest is gonna get after it, and Rampage has an exciting style. I think Rampage get the TKO in Rd.
The 205lb. weight class has some serious names and contenders: Wandy, Liddell, Jardine, T. Silva, Forrest, Rashad, Tito, Shogun, etc... They could probably headline any event in '08 with a good 205lb. matchup. Hopefully Bisping moves down to give the 185lb class a little excitement.

This is exactly how I see Machida and his current position in the UFC. The division is so stacked right now, and Machida isnt the marketing machine that Dana and Zuffa have in a guy like Forrest. They want to milk him along and are in no rush to put him in a title fight position. I bet Dana and Zuffa are hoping Forrest upsets Rampage, even though Rampage is also a fan favorite. I am very interested in seeing Machida againt Sokoudjou. Soko trains with Henderson and will be a test for Machida and vice versa. If he beats Soko, I think one more fight against a bigger name and he`s in line for a title shot.
