Yeah...the Soko/Machida fight is a definate.

As for Bonnar, I don't see him as anything other than a fringe guy. He'd be a good matchup for anyone coming off TUF, cause he's got a name people recognize. That said, he doesn't really have KO power, or great submissions.

I guess I don’t see the 205 camp as stacked as everyone else

Henderson is dropping to 185
Bisping doesn’t belong at 205
Evans & T Silva need a fight against a top guy to see if they’re ready.
Machida needs to beat Soko to prove himself worthy
Chuck needs to beat Wandy to stay in the game.
Not sure where Tito is, probably waiting for the next Shamrock fight.

Not sure if any of the above are better than Arona or Little Nog.

Rua, Wandy, & Soko are all legit

I don’t understand why Dana is waiting for so long to have Rampage defend his belt. They’re wasting any momentum from Chuck V Wandy as the earliest they could probably challenge for the belt is late next year. Which should be followed up by the Winner of Machida/Soko fighting Rua for the next crack at the belt.

Just my opinion but Dana is wasting the talent he’s assembled.
Cubs baseball is about three things: losing, drunkenness, and shame.

Rampage had a hand injury so he couldn't defend the belt for awhile.

I think Bisping will probably drop to 185.
Tito needs a big win to stay in the picture. I think his next fight will either be Rua or Wandy.
T Silva and Evans I think would be a great matchup with each other.
There's also still Jardine and Forrest in the division as well.

Take it for what it's worth, but Vitor Belfort is in discussions with the UFC... Possible rematch with Tito.

JU- I am not the biggest Dana fan either, but...I have to give him credit for the talent he assembled at 205. It is as stacked as you are going to get, and some of it is home grown...which I have to give the credit for from a business standpoint. Griffen vs Jackson could be a very exciting fight. But...when it's all said and done, who else could he have matched it up with? Everyone in the division is pretty much coming off losses, and so far Machida is still relatively unknown in the UFC(which I do feel in the UFC's fault) IMO he is a very talented fighter, and one of the best counter punchers in the sport. But still, in looking for the big fight, Dana IMO did a good job here. Griffen is a huge draw for the UFC, but the fans can now identify with Rampage too. If somehow Forrest pulls this fight out of his ass, the place will go bannanas. If Rampage wins, it is pretty mch expected anyway, but no matter this fight is going to draw. But it sets up some very interesting matchups to follow. Especially with Soku in the mix. Lots of possibilities now, and if Belfort is truly coming back into the mix it's another big name(although not as talented as he once was) into the game, which could make for some interesting combinations. If Bisping was to stay 205, that's a pretty solid matchup right there. Would probably be a good stand up war.

The top of the class

Quinton Rampage Jackson
Shogun Rua
Chuck Liddell
Lyoto Machida
Wanderlei Silva
Rameau Sokodjou<sp>
Tito Ortiz

So even with Hendo dropping down, even the up and coming talent there is stacked. At this point I don't even know where to put Griffen, but he just beat what many considered the top 205lber in the game.

Forrest Griffen
Rashad Evans
Houston Alexander
Thiago Silva
Michael Bisping
Matt Hamill
Keith Jardine

There are just so many possibilities here, but the only thing I really fault Dana for is keeping Machida on the down low here. Other than that I think the UFC in general has done a very good job of 1) bringing in the talent and 2) matchmaking the right fights. The only thing that really sucks about the org is they are raking in some major profits, and still grossly underpaying fighters.

I read somewhere that the UFC in 2006 grossed $211,000,000 in PPV Buys alone! That's w/out all the gates, the TV contracts, endorsements etc. The company is a monster.But...if they don't start paying these guys, I think we will see the talent pool more and more diluted. Too many shows out there already, each with some damn good fighters that would spice up each division.
Chuck. Chuck. It's Marvin - your cousin, Marvin BERRY. You know that new sound you're looking for? Well, listen to this.

I'm not too sure what Vitor will bring into the LHW mix. If he fights like he used to, he'll of course be a force. However, if he is as hot and cold as he's been over the last few years, I can see him dropping some boring decisions, and being out of the UFC within two years.
