I honestly don't understand how anyone can defend this guy. This shit is why fighting is trying to be banned in juniors.

Okay….
Plymouth Whaler runs a Kitchener player from behind into the boards. One of the most chicken-shit plays you can do in hockey.
Mascioli goes after said Plymouth player for trying to turn his teammate’s spine into a pretzel.
Please explain what Mascioli did wrong, and why you have no problem with the Whaler trying to put the Ranger into a wheelchair.

I'd like to know the answer as well.

Ditto. This is what enforcement is all about. Nothing wrong with what Mascioli did, only with what the Plymouth guy did, and he paid for it.

Looked good to me. They said that was third player to be run.

As the announcers said, it was the 3rd hit from behind in the game as well. Also keep in mind how Jozef Sladok beat up on the Rangers in the playoffs at the end of last season. These two teams rarely need a real reason to get it going. Plymouth provided 3. Geldart rode him in, it's hardly as bad as it looks, but by this point in the game, KIT wasn't going to stand pat and keep watching it. I would hope any Whaler would do the same in that situation.

One of the previous hits/fights
Mike Yovanic Vs Brandon Mashinter
The first hit was Leo Jenner hitting the same kid (Akeson) from behind, but no fights ensued.

That's still a hit from behind and it needs to be dealt with in an appropriate manner. i don't see anything wrong with the KIT player dropping his mitts and sticking up for his teammates.

I guess Mascioli should have been more careful with the refs but other than that it's a great move stepping in.
