this is a vietnamese noodle soup. i grew up with viet friends and was introduced and addicted to this dish at a very young age. but once i moved.. i never had it again. until that is, i went to toronto back in 2003 and found they had a vietnamese rest. across from the days inn. but living here in levittown pa.. i longed for someone to open a place that i could indulge in my pho bo addiction.. and sure enough.. BANG one opens. =) now i order this dish once or twice a week.
anyone else have this or have tried it?

We had a couple threads in the past on Vietnamese food including a pho recipe. It is amazing. I had heard about it here and finally tried it in college as our campus was right by Chinatown in Boston which is more like All-Asia-Town. Several Vietnamese restaurants there.
Best. Food. EVER. I bumped up a couple threads on it.

Pho is everywhere now. Try pho tai nam. It's rare beef and slow cooked beef brisket, sliced thin over hot broth, noodles, and herbs/greenage. Squeeze a lime wedge, add viet basil, chili pepper slices and sprouts and slurp. Your best bet is to date a cute Vietnamese girl, get in good with her mom and try the home cooked version. Worked for me. Just don't ask her for the recipe...

It got huge in Seattle about 6 years ago. I tried it and thought it was nasty. I tried numerous restaurants so it wasn't just one place. I didn't like it one bit.

I love Pho! Probably my favorite lunch right now. I only tried it for the first time less than 2 years ago for some reason. I think its the perfect meal.

Saw Bourdain talking about this. He spoke of it as better than breathing. There is a part of Downtown Orlando known as Little Vietnam. Anybody tried this there?

One of my all-time favorite dishes. Add a little lime juice, basil and fresh jalapeno... damn.

Tried it a few times; a couple friends love it. I thought it was okay- good but not great; definitely a full meal. I just didnt think it was really that flavorful.
