Wow, this is actually an awesome topic. Thanks to whoever hacked into TGR's account!
I would say
(show from the 80's, though the 70's "Bob newhart Sow" had a better theme song with the flugelhorn, and pretty much just as funny, if not maybe even funnier then the 80's version- but I grew up to see the 80's version as it was aired, and to me, it was a special show).
The Dick Van Dyke Show
. Tremendous writing. One of the best written shows- ever. Mary Tyler Moore was so cute, and Van Dyke was the best, I say, THE BEST in the business.
2nd time this is mentioned- what a great show with a great cast, and great writing again. A magical show and concoction of characters.
Welcome Back Kotter
Agree, the 1st season, and really 1st few seasons were by far the best- and SO funny! God rest Arnold Horshack, Juan Epstein, and Mr. Woodman.
- A given. Great script, writing- awesome.
There's certainly more to mention that would make the ALL TIME this list, aside from those I mentioned just now- "Good Times", "All in the Family", "The Odd Couple", "Family Affair", "Twilight Zone", "Cosby Show"(1st 4 seasons), "Family Ties", "The Incredible Hulk", "Batman", the 67 Spider-Man cartoon (that might be #1 for me, actually), "Columbo", "The Andy Griffith Show".
