Can't wait for this. Was never into Star Trek but Abrams first one was awesome and I always liked Wrath of Khan.

The first one was really good. If that's Khan, this will be huge.

Saw it today, loved it! Every bit as good as the original. I hear that some of the hard core Trekkers dont care for a few of the twists, but i thought it was great.

Just saw it. Loved it. What were the twists that the hard core guys did not like? I am pretty hard core myself.

*SPOILER*
Probably the portrayal of a younger Khan, and Kirk and Spock switching places.

Ehhh I guess. I did not have a huge issue with it. I wonder if Mike thought Pine was better this time. I thought Pine absolutely nailed Kirk in this one. Urban was awesome as McCoy. Even better than last time granted I would have liked more.
I liked it. I would have liked more Kahn and more back-story.

Saw it last night, and I actually enjoyed the role reversal towards the end.

I just saw it with my son. Liked it better than the first one (which I liked). I thought the new Kahn angle was really cool and overall I never found the movie dull.
I like JJ Abrams. I still think of his as a JV version of a young Spielberg, but that's not a bad thing to be! I liked the way he was able to make things futuristic, yet still organic, which Lucas was completely incapable of in his films.
As for Chris Pine as Kirk, he was definitely better in this film, and in the end, when everything is resolved and the movie sets things in a new direction, I really liked that scene and that he actually seemed like a Captain.
Yet for the most part, I still stand by Chris Pine being weak. He is almost bratty and adolescent as Kirk. I understand he's a risk taker and uses his gut instead of logic like Spock. But its the X-Games-like, whiny stuff that just keeps me from viewing him as the right choice for Kirk.
I dont know who would be better, but someone that seems like a captain would be a good start (like a Russell Crowe type during his Gladiator days).

Someone is definitely getting a tug from Sulu. No clue on the context though.

Crowe was a great captain in Master and Commander.
