As of 12:50 p.m., CBS News is reporting "at least 27 people are dead in CT school shooting, 14 children"
Other news sources report that an entire kindergarten classroom is unaccounted for. Kindergarten.
Just for comparison, 12 were killed at the infamous Columbine shooting.
12:56 EST Update: AP reporting that source with knowledge of the situation confirms 27 dead, including 18 children. If accurate, would be second worst school shooting in US History, after Virginia Tech incident, and one of worst mass shootings overall.

As an aside, I have long-time clients in Ridgefield, CT, which is right next door. This area is very-small town, sleepy, lovely, middle-to-upper-middle-cl ass type of place. The last place one would ever expect a tragedy like this to unfold. Absolutely sickening.

Jesus christ dude. I thought VA Tech would change things but being this is an elementary school, I predict major changes not to gun laws, but rather school security.

This is all fucking sick. What the hell makes someone hurt a child???? I hope they maim the sick bastard who's still alive. There is literally NO justification for any of this, and the shooter should suffer the most painful death, IN PUBLIC so everyone can see what should happen to sick fucks who do stuff like this.

Agreed. Newtown is a nice town, upper middle class. Very New Englandesque.
Worst school shooting in American history.
