So I've had my PS3 Slim for about 4 years now and I went to play some BF3 the other day when after inserting the disc, I heard a clunk and then I heard the disc being moved again inside the PS3 but the disc menu wouldn't pop up and it won't read.

I tried a couple times, reinserting the disc and then turning my PS3 off and on. After a couple of goes it finally loads up.

Tried to play NHL12 a day later and same thing happens. I attempt to do the same thing but it won't work for me. I evenutally go online and learn how to load your PS3 in safe mode to fix and data corruptions.

After trying that my disc loads, so I think I fixed it. Well yesterday I try to play my PS3 again and go through the same steps, but no dice. Now nothing will work, I don't really want to reformat my PS3...any suggestions?

May sure it's been updated. I had t used my blu-ray on my ps3 for a couple months and it needed them.

Are you sure you are putting the disc in the player and not the microwave? Because it won't work in the microwave.

Thanks for all the comments from the peanut gallery. Got my PS3 back from Sony and it's working again.
