I thought Stewart was a fairly highly touted as a prospect of pretty fair value, so it seems they gave up a fair bit for Westgarth here which as mentioned above is hopefully a good thing in that they'll play him. Should be a bit more competition for him in the East as well. This will take Carolina out of contention for the most pathetic team in the league so it's a great move in my opinion. Florida's got Parros, Winnipeg are pretty Pathetic with Thorburn being probably the closest thing they have to a tough guy. That is plenty compared to Washington who've got nothing outside of Hendricks. Tampa got nothing, Keith Aulie I suppose, so Carolina with this move go from among the most pathetic in the league to amongst the toughest in their division.

PR: Scrappy guys but no heavyweight now. Clifford is the best of that group, the others are more grinders and power forwards who will have a couple fights each at best.

Carolina surely overpaid, 2 prospects basically + Anthony Stewart (trying to catch lightning in a bottle and rejuvenate him).

This is great though as BUF play Carolina in Game #2 of the season in BUF, so Scott vs Westgarth becomes a lock!! Welcome to the EAST KW.
