RIP.
I read somewhere where he gave back some of his salary after signing a new contract that paid him a $100k a year, because he had a sub-par year.
Can you see that happening today?

Harry Caray LOVED Musial, and would talk about him often during Cubs telecasts. RIP- one of the greatest.

He's one of those players I wish I had grown up being able to watch, along with Clemente.

Every time I read about another legend passing away, it makes me think soon we won't have any players linked to the past.
Devils John Madden being interviewed:
Interviewer- How does it feel to cover Gomez?
Madden- I don't know. I don't cover 3rd line centers.

One of the top 10 offensive forces in the history of the game and, by all accounts, a great human being. RIP Stan

One of the most underrated and underappreciated of the truly great players. Overshadowed due to the NY media and the long shadows of Willie Mays and Mickey Mantle, among others.
RIP Stan the Man. Top 10 nickname, too.

When I was a kid, my father's favorite player was Stan Musial. We went on vacation once to Ohio and he made sure that we drove through Donora, PA, so we could see where Stan Musial was born.
RIP.

it seems funny this guy lived into his 90's. A timeless legend!
