Does it seem like Hair Nation has been playing Queensryche a ten times as often since their split? Before the split it seemed I would hear Jet City Woman, Eyes of a Stranger or Silent Lucidity on occasion. Now I hear something from the EP, Warning, Rage for Order, Mindcrime, or Empire every other song it seems.
On a side note, it's a travesty that there are two bands touring as QR now. Tate's group should call themselves Geoff Tate's All-Star Band of Refuse to Hang'em Up Has-beens, and the other version should just stick with Rising West, or whatever it was.
The name Queensryche should be put to rest. Probably should've been put to rest after Hear in the Now Frontier.

I still have the bandanna that Tate threw to me in the front row of the Spectrum when they opened for KISS on The Warning Tour. I can't throw it out. It's a problem, I know.

I've heard them a lot on Hair Nation too. I heard Take Hold of the Flame twice in 1 day last week.
The band without Tate is playing near me soon. I can't imagine why anyone would go see them.
Empire was their last good album. They were/are a solid band. Operation Mindcrime is a great album, but some of the songs are a little slow for me.
Everytime i think of Queensryche, I can't help but think to the summer of 1991. They were doing an arena tour with Suicidal Tendencies. They were playing the Meadowlands. My smoking hot co-worker had a ticket for the show. She told me she didn't want to go and if i wanted the ticket. I didn't know any of her friends so I turned it down. She then looked at me and said, "Oh well, I guess I have nothing to do that night". Being 17 years old and she being a college chick, I was too stupid to ask her to hang out. Turns out she ended up banging this other co-worker all summer. The next summer, I fooled around with her a little but that was all. She told me if it was the summer before, she would have fucked me no questions asked. This still pisses me off to this day.
Devils John Madden being interviewed:
Interviewer- How does it feel to cover Gomez?
Madden- I don't know. I don't cover 3rd line centers.

indeed, PR. Mindcrime smokes, and i'm not really a big Queensryche fan. they made an Operation Mindcrime II years later, but i never heard it. some friends told me it's just fucking terrible. like so bad that it's hard to believe. i guess i should find out for myself, but i haven't heard anyone say anything good about it...

I think I listened through it once.
It might be OK, I just couldn't get into it.

it's not terrible. it's probably the best post-DeGarmo album, it just falls very short of the original. there are a couple very good songs, a few decent ones, and then some palatable ones.

I could never get past the fact that this band's one hit is a complete Pink Floyd Ripoff.

Gotta agree with Gill here and I was a fan back then seeing them live numerous times. The first time I heard Silent Lucidity on the radio I thought it was Floyd.

Just listen to it - Silent Lucidity is just a Floyd ripoff - The song, the production techniques. It's immediately apparent to anyone familiar with music.

Ouch. Me no music get.
I never thought that, myself, but I suppose it's not that far off.
Regardless, I don't like that song, so it's not much of a factor for me when considering Queensryche.

I've always heard the Floyd/Silent Lucidity comparisons, but couldn't hear it myself. I think a lot of people confuse "ripped of" with "influenced by." I'm sure there are cases of both,as in Kingdom Come ripped off Led Zeppelin. I'm just not sure that is the case with Silent Lucidity. Then again, they are my all-time favorite band, so I'm not exactly objective on the subject.

Tateryche's new single is better than LaTorreryche's, but Tate and DeGarmo were the songwriters so i guess that should be expected.

Tateryche's Cold is pretty good, had to a do a double take after the shit he has cranked out in the past 10+ years.
