You are going to see the headliner of course, but did you ever miss the opening act because you had no idea who they were,didn't care, or wanted to finish a couple more beer in the parking lot?

I will always regret, staying in the parking lot to have a couple more beers while a relatively unknown band did their show, opening up for Iron Maiden. That band? Guns and Roses, appetite for destruction tour. Awesome album, but ignorance cost me a chance of a lifelong memory.

Recently I saw KISS for the first time and Buck Cherry was opening for them. My best lifelong friend insisted there was no point in seeing them because he had no idea who they were. I liked and new some of there music and finally convinced him to go in after about 3-4 songs had played and after the show he said "good call on that, they were really good."

I will never miss an opening act again. You see some dogs, but can witness some gems.

I got to pretty much only GNR shows so I never see the opening band otherwise I would be at the venue way too long.

GNR was relatively unknown at the time in this market. Welcome to the jungle was all over the airwaves about two months after this. I missed a golden opportunity.

I have been to about 60 concerts and I think I have seen the opening band maybe 2 or 3 times. Even when I know and like them I skip it. Tailgating is way too important to me. I love live music, but I honestly think I love the parking lot even more.

Went to see Dio on the Dream Evil tour. Had to work that night and got to the arena just in time for Dio, missing the two opening acts, Savatage and Megadeth.
On Metallica's last tour I missed Lamb of God, their tour before that I got there just in time to see Godsmack's last song.
I've been to concerts just for the opening act before. Saw LA Guns open for Ted Nugent. Saw Guns and left.

We missed Faith No More at Giants Stadium opening for Metallica and G N R. Too much fun in that parking lot. I now regret not going in early enough to catch them.
