Really bad wreck on the last lap. 15 spectators taken to local hospitals including 1 in critical condition after reportedly being hit by a tire/suspension piece.
That was insane, ripping the whole engine off the car. Honestly, seeing the wreck, very lucky nobody was killed on the spot. You see how far that tire flew into the stands??!!

Wow, that is some crazy footage. Still amazed nobody was killed, what a freak accident. I can assure you InVain, you're quite safe at a NASCAR race hahahaha!

Impossible to fully control an accident PR. The safety of NASCAR is incredible and has come light years ahead since Dale Earnhardt was killed. A testament to this is that none of the drivers in this wreck were seriously hurt, all of them walked away. Also, a car doing close to 200 mph flew up into the fence exploding and nobody was killed in the stands. That's pretty amazing safety as far as I'm concerned. NASCAR has done a lot to ensure the safety of their drivers and fans, and every year does more.

I guarantee that you could protect the fans 100%. The problem is that it would take something away from the view or experience...and they can't have that!

Do you watch NASCAR? Not trying to argue, but you sound like the non hockey fan crying out against fighting. Yesterday was a freak accident, you can't fully control freak accidents. I guarantee you NASCAR is already thinking of ways to improve safety because if this. That is how they are, seems you're implying they don't really care which is far from the truth. It is because of their safety precautions that nobody was killed. You want more barriers up around the rink because of the danger of flying pucks? You are far more likely catching a puck in the face at a hockey game.

Yeah I gotta admit I love NASCAR but it's kinda like regular season baseball. It's a lot easier to enjoy with a couple of cold ones in you.
You may have to drop acid to make this race exciting. This is boring as hell. I hope it picks up in the 2nd half. This single file racing without passing at Daytona is awful.

The best was when Danica led that one lap, DW said he hasn't heard that many cheers since Junior took a lead at Daytona. HAHA!!
Another good line was when Larry Mac(I think) said with 10 laps to go that there isn't anyone sitting in the stands. Of course they were standing you jerk off, there wasn't anything to see until lap 180. The only lead changes were during the pits.
NASCAR better hope these new Gen-6 cars race a lot better on these other tracks. If they don't, then these half empty tracks will be even emptier.
