Ease up on Dale Weise. He was a victim of his circumstances/team last season. He's not a heavyweight, and a shit fighter at that. He backed down to Thornton... we know. Why are you bringing it up again?

I get it, everybody hates the Canucks. Unfortunately I live here and am stuck with them, whether I like this current version or not. Weise should have fought Thornton but I do feel like this one was blown out of proportion a bit.

To me it looked like Weise had a fight lined up with McQuaid, you can see them talking. Thornton decides to cut in at the last minute and waves MacQuaid away. Weise clearly knows he's overmatched against Thornton and steps back. He never does the fake glove drop shit or taunts Thornton, just looks confused and steps back. Thornton completes the embarassment by dropping the gloves. Maybe Thornton should have let MacQuaid take Weise, I'm sure AM would have tuned him. But...Weise should have just fought Thornton and that would have been the end of that. The real fools here are the B's announcers. Clueless as usual. Weise didn't goad Thornton into anything. Thornton wanted to be the hero. Even Rat Boy Marchand commented in an interview on how that was a cheap/sneaky move by Thornton.
