haha, along with your Godwin Award, I'll take posux over you here, for the only time in my life. And I think it's a dumb thread with no value whatsoever.
At least the guy's not a Godwin winner virtually every damned day.

But then why comment and give my thread more life? Nothing better to do? You have problems.

This response based simply on the fact that you'd be there with Hitler.

I wish I was 5 again so that I could always feel happy and wanted, just by saying incredibly moronic things like this.
Yep, Hitler, just like him. What a little tiny fool you are.

Lol..NYPD is spending 146k a day protecting Trump Tower too and is now asking to be reiembursed. Shouldn't Trump himself pay for that expense?....
Why should he?
Why is the local PD protecting the first family at all? I'm actually at a hotel down the street from Trump Tower right now, and the security change since pre-trump is insane! BUT the POTUS has a whole federal organization to guard him and his family, is the NYPD contribution really necessary?
Now if the NYPD is on site to only cover the traffic issues (I didn't pay attention to who was with what org) then the fed should be paying for the security IMHO.
I'm no Trump fan but if he's operating within the rules, then he shouldn't be treated differently just because he appears to have the means to drop huge buckets of cash for security.

Part of the mosaic of irrationally hating Trump.
He's rich is just one facet.
146 K in the NYC or NY budgets.......like a penny.
Though I'd love to see the details that make up that number. Probably just lying about a bunch of shit they're already doing for other reasons. Why would you ever expect DeBlasio or Cuomo to be telling the truth about anything ? 2 of the biggest criminals and miscreants in the history of America.

I have always been bothered by the ridiculous cost it takes to protect a president and their insanely high travel costs. But why do we need a new standard for this president - asking him to pay for it? Is that going to be the new way of doing business or just for presidents we don't like?
Spot on. I'm all for scaling back on these costs and tightening a sensible budget around them.
That said, if the Secret Service can escort Malia to Mexico or chase after the drunk, bar-hopping Bush girls , the same safety precautions can be afforded the Trumps.
As for the golf, I never really paid much attention to it. My feeling is that business is probably being discussed on a lot of these rounds, but it's not a great optic for Trump to be constantly golfing given his bashing of the previous president for doing the same.

I honestly don't give a shit how much golf the President takes, or vacations he takes.
But Trump had a habit of bagging on Obama for taking too many vacations, and playing too much golf. So, when Trump does it FOUR TIMES AS MUCH, of course people are going to talk about it, and call him a hypocrite.
He also is opening himself up to the obvious political problem of cutting programs that benefit people in rural areas (i.e. HIS voters), while spending four times as much money on vacations to golf courses and ski mountains for himself and his family. For instance, it does not look good at all for Trump to entirely eliminate the Appalachian Regional Commission, the budget of which is less than what the Secret Service likely will spend this year flying the Trumps to Mar-a-Lago and Aspen, and protecting Melania in Trump Tower. Why can't she live in Washington like every other First Lady ever? Why can't Trump just drive to a local course, rather than fly to Florida to pimp a club he owns? It's politically tone deaf.
If the GOP health plan winds up giving his voters worse coverage at a higher cost, he is going to be fucked. If the economy turns -- which is more likely than not to happen during his four year term, because economic expansions rarely last over ten years -- he is going to be fucked. Typically minor shit like golf vacations will become way more symbolic in the eyes of voters.

I'll admit there isn't a day that goes by in which I don't start to regret voting for Trump. Then I remember that my other option was Hillary. Regret gone.
I still can't believe those two were America's best options.

I didn't vote for either of them.
But I do admit - readily - that Hilary would have been an unmitigated disaster.
Trump is a qualified disaster.

I will suggest that I don't think that the overall results are going to be as bad under Trump as they would have been under Hillary, but the bullshit and the drama and the douchebaggery is going to be legendary.

Nope.
Didn't vote for any presidential candidate.
Voted down ticket, but left the presidential ticket blank.

You should have told me you were in town. I work about 3 blocks from Trump Towers. Next time let me know.
And by the way, my post was in response to Baldy who stated that Trump should pay for the first families protection, which is asinine.
