Thoughts on the late Rick Rypien? Could he possibly be ranked as one of the best pound for pound fighters ever? Or only of his time?

Him against Cam Janssen from December 31, 2009 is a personal favourite of mine. Janssen loved the slow and plodding style, but Rypper was having none of it and forced him to open up. Rypper eventually got Janssen to bleed.

Plus of course, who could forget him taking on giants like Hal Gill and Boris Valabik and winning. It would've been nice to see how he fared against actual heavyweights, but that's what the Canucks had Darcy Hordichuk for. I guess that's really the only knock against him, if you can really call it a knock.

That was a dandy! I think he would have been a great Flyer in the 70's.

Most fearless man I ever seen in hockey. Actually, sometimes wondered if it was craziness and still do. Going toe-to-toe with Matt Carrier was about the bravest thing a Canucks did since Smyl went toe to toe with Semenko or Odjick fighting a prime Dave Brown 5x in 90-91.

Favourite moment was him beating the crap out of Richard Clune in 2010 playoffs. Great playoffs moment in Canucks history. Felt like a genuine heated fight at the time where finally a Canucks came out on top. Either that or fighting Prust twice in one night splitting the pair.

Highly underweighted. Still so good. RIP we miss you. He was one of the most kindest person i know who played a hockey.
His birthday lands in almost same day as mine own one.
