I hope it is cloudy all day.

This.

I'm halfway across the Metroplex from MadProfessor so I'll also be in the 70% range. I plan to go outside for a bit, take a look at how the light affects things, but that's about it.

I remember we got a good view of the annular eclipse of 1994 in Ohio but our teachers all assumed we'd roast our eyes out so we didn't get to see it. But I remember on the way to gym class, all the light outside had a weird silvery look to it. So I kind of want to see if that happens again. I can look out the window at that just fine.

You'll be in good spot for the 2024 eclipse.

So I stayed up late to see this and to be honest was a little underwhelmed. No night-time in the heat of day. No alien invasion. Nothing.

Left home (south of SLC) at about 4:00-4:30 and took the 15 up to almost Rexburg, Idaho (between there and Roberts). Only took 3.5 hours to get there.

The full-on eclipse is a must-see. It was really, really cool. Everything went dark, you could look at the moon without glasses (the sun was gone, save some "triangles" of vague light that came around it) and some astronomer from AB was across from us pointing out all the planets you could see with the naked eye.

The drive home took about six hours in mostly bumper to bumper. That sucked, but the experience was really cool.

Being in Portland we were treated to a 98%+ eclipse. Had a room in a cabin on the path of totality...... wish I'd braved the traffic and made the drive. Was pretty cool.... but coulda been better

This! Totality makes 99% look lame. Took us 12 hours to get home but worth it! We're planning on going to my sister in law's house in San Antonio for the eclipse in 2024.

70% where I was, thought it would be darker but just a seemed like slightly cloudy day. Made me nix my plan to sacrifice my intern to Ra.
