LOL I don't have a real job? I'll have to let my employer know tomorrow.

You take a lot of personal shots for someone who claims to be so happy with his life. I hope that helps you sleep better at night.

If religion is not in the fold whatsoever, what is the point of being married? Just to be legally on the hook if something goes wrong?

Tax benefits, access to the hospital should your loved one get sick, ability to make decisions on behalf of that sick person, ability to collect on survivors benefits when you make the wrong decisions for your loved ones.....

Marriage as a separate institution from the church is a lot older than it being a Sacrament..

This! Hence why I've always been a supporter of gay marriage, from a legal perspective. I would also, of course, support a church's right to not marry gays (or anyone else) within their own halls. It's not the religious component that matters to me, obviously...and I got married...twice.

Hence why government shouldn't be in the determining who should be able to marry game

Write a simple contract and be done with it (This is me giving the lawyers more work)

Isn't that what they're doing?

Good boy! Now sit.

I know you are trying to be droll, but where did you get the idea I don't have any money? I mean, you're not wrong but it seems like an odd thing to go after when you could much more easily defame my character as racist and pure evil.

Sorry man, I wrapped up the racist space last week. No occupancy sign is lit.

At the time of the wedding where there would be the readings, the officiant quoted Star Wars. Not even a nod to religion of any sort.

Hokey religions and ancient weapons (pepper spray and rocks?) are no match for a good blaster at your side kid.

(sorry, from a former Star Wars nerd; though couldn't imagine quoting it at a wedding ceremony; Spaceballs, maybe.)

...and yes, many of us are THAT out of touch apparently.

Before my wife came down the aisle, I had an old guy dressed as a miner scream incoherently from an adjacent rooftop. One of my groomsmen then said "I think he said the sheriff is near!"

Star Wars? Please...

I hear you.

I have these kinds of thoughts daily now.

I am a middle aged business guy...work 5 or more hard days a week, raise my kids, pay my taxes, coach mite hockey etc...all of which makes me not cool in today's society.

With all these not working, complaining, entitled, know it all protesting everything, I cannot even watch the news without getting pissed.

Some would call us anachronisms.

I prefer the term "radical."

I elected to help promote (sell) my wife's business that makes hundreds an hour over busting my ass to get to six figures working for someone else every year, yes.

Now I bust my ass to get to well over six figures working for myself.

I wasn't the one who insinuated the unfounded claims of domestic violence, and was actually part of negating it, so making shit up on me seems distasteful, at best.

Hell no. Other way around. I spelled all of that out here, over the years, I'm sure.

Now, going into me having a dick that's too small to keep my wife happy would be a much better angle.

It is very overt with the Lesbian uh Minister marrying the two. How many Priests talking about love and devotion to the congregation were buggering boys? Or not keeping their vows of celibacy? Hopefully none. I used to smirk when my parents shook their heads at some of the things "us kids did." Kanrock the people of whom you are writing will get old.
