Hello All,

Was just curious... As far as the library of Bob Probert's Red Wings career, was the Bruise Brothers tape from Fist of Fury the gold standard? Or, did someone else keep a high quality Probert tape during the Bruise Brother era? I am just curious.

Kramer put together a pretty good series on Probert. It ended up being several volumes in total.

So there are alternative recordings of Probert's first few seasons in a high quality? I ask because as monumental as that Bruise Brothers tape was, if I remember correctly some significant fights are joined in progress.

A side note, my Bruise Brothers tape is rare in the sense that Andy, by request, added Probert/Domi 1 to the end of my tape. That was cool of him to do that for me as I wanted to see that fight bad!

I would second the Kramer recommendation. Starts with any footage that could be found from juniors and possibly the minors, and as far as I know, isn't missing a single fight at the NHL level aside from a few preseason bouts.

So the Kramer Probert footage is independent of the Bruise Brothers footage? They come from different sources?

For example, if I am not mistaken when Ewen KO's Probert on the Bruise Brothers tape, it pretty much is joined in progress instead of the standard 15-20 second lead in before the fight starts.

I'm pretty confident in saying that Kmans Probert anthology is the most complete/high quality collection of Probert's career out there.

As far as when the fights are picked up, thats usually more a function of when the camera switched to the fight.
