Well, in the most socialist statement ever made in the history of United States presidential candidates, he promised everyone a job and a national minimum wage of $15/hr.

I will admit, I am slightly sympathetic to those who want a single-payer health care system. No, I'm not all out for it in the US, and I do not believe it is a right, but I see the benefits health-wise in Canada as I do believe people being able to see doctors for minor injuries can still save lives or prevent minor injuries from turning into elective surgeries. So, JS, I can see some of the rationale from the Left on this issue.

But national minimum wages, promises of employment for everyone, which sounds an awful lot like central government planning Venezuala style, and $15 minimum wages when even leftist economists agree that it is not likely to benefit the poor and will actually hurt them (see Zachary Karabell on the subject).

Does Bernie Sanders really have a chance to win the Democratic nomination in 2020 (provided he doesn't croak)?

I pay absolutely no attention to Bernie Sanders so I really don't have a right to comment.

If everyone gets a minimum $15/hr my pay better go up by at least $10/hr or I'll take the pay cut and work some mindless job so I don't have to wade in blood and guts and vomit and piss all day.

I like Bernie. He has some good ideas and some dumb ones. I think full implementation of is plan would create a utopia, but full implementation would take generations and the growing pains would cause a civil war or two.

He ain’t he answer. He’s a philosopher not a savior.

Lol, your classic post of support for the unsupportable and inexplicable.

But you said just enough "questionable" to later claim "I did not ever support that !".

Exactly. Why go through hell and equally hellish hours for $5 more per hour than you can earn at McDonalds? And how are small businesses/retail stores going to stay afloat if they have to pay $10 per hour more than they are now, just to retain decent employees? It will just backfire, small business owners will cut bait and do it themselves. So it will end up having a reverse effect....higher unemployment and job losses.

In the minds of Bernie, Marx, Stalin, Mao, Che, And the rest of the idiots....... you, the 15 dollar burger flipper, and the doctor..... all get paid the same, and all live in the same crappy govt housing.

Yeah, nobody could ever predict that earthlings would say "fook dat". Or that everybody would defect or drink vodka til they die.

One of the funny market oddities is that endless bums and slugs can call for 911 services 5 times per day, every day, for free.

Charge people 500 or 1000 bucks a visit, and you'd have proper revenue for proper salaries, and less disgusting, ridiculous conditions.

Another great taste of socialism. My bro-in-law says that half the time people just want someone to talk to, or bitch at.

It's also lacking from Shakespeare's or Fedor Dostoievski's or Flannery O'Connor's.

But it's still miles ahead of yours.

I'll be conservative and say that at least 50% of the calls I go on do not require us. I suspect it's more in the 80% range, but for the sake of argument let's just say 50%.

These are people that are some or many of the below:

1. Are not compliant with previous medical orders that can absolutely prevent any need for calling an ambulance.

2. Have absolutely no desire to help themselves and just expect to make a phone call and have everyone do for them. Things like, go to your primary care physician for minor things rather than call an ambulance.

3. Have no intention of ever paying the bill.

4. Don't have cash on hand to pay a taxi and will refer to #3 when the bill comes.

5. Call an ambulance because they think they will be seen faster and their entitled ass doesn't deserve to wait like the plebes. (This is a common theme when there's a minor illness or injury and there are four perfectly good cars in the driveway and plenty of family members on scene.) Though the sweet revenge of transporting them to the hospital and leaving them in the waiting room is satisfying, because it absolutely doesn't work the way they think. If I had a dollar for every time I reported "triage appropriate" when I call in to the hospital during the transport....

Bernie just found out someone was giving away free money.
“The greatest thing we can do just unite and love on each other and like, no barriers, no borders, like, we all need to just co-exist.”
